This novel tells the story of a family of fishers and of all the other residents in the small village of Aci Trezza, in Sicily. They are all joined in their cuture and way of thinking, however they are different in their interests. Through false freindships, true love and rivalry. The decline of the Malavoglia family will be dramatic and relentless. However, every ending has a new beginning.
